Little Big Blue Sync

Between what you know and what you wish, lies the secret of The Big Blue...

One of my favorite movies from the 80's was the '88 french film The Big Blue directed by Luc Besson. I'm watching it again right now and this scene caught my sync-eye:

What do we have here? Through the window the World Trade Center pillarmids, with a foreground echo of the same in the balcony railing, complete with the same partially filled open space between.

Follow a line from the top outer corners of the Towers to the top outer corners of the echo towers in the railing and carry the line on down to the corner of the window and it touches the top and bottom of a third pillarmid, which looks much like one found on a masonic tracing board. Rosanne Arquette says, "I hate New York. I hate this apartment and I hate you." Then the movie cuts to the shot above.

The tub of ice cream bears the letters W and T. Although the brand is W&T with a double C shaped & in the Center.

The Big Blue is one giant Water Door/Water Gate/Star Gate, so it is not surprising to have the WTC featured. The main character Jacques Mayol is re-introduced as an adult in trance - and altered state - as he prepares to enter a water door, once inside his internal state alters even more in dramatic ways.

Jacques Mayol was a real person and his story inspired the movie and he helped write it. He believed in a evolutionary connection between man and dolphin and wrote about and explored how man might one day become Homo Dolphinus.

By the way, I saw Quantum of Solace tonight (SPOILER (?) ALERT). It's a bit of a sync fest, heavy on the checkerboards and complete with a checkered cab and room "325" or 23/23. The subject matter (a secret society manipulating global politics through the guise of global warming) combined with the syncs and symbols makes for an interesting movie experience. Like, let's produce a movie and just tell every body exactly what we are doing and wrap it all up in our symbols, and then everyone says, "Oh we saw that in a movie. It's fiction." Hide it in plan sight.
